Panasonic Projector
Repair Centre.
Powering the UK's largest venues and education facilities. We provide specialist diagnostics for Panasonic 3LCD and 1-Chip / 3-Chip DLP installation projectors, including liquid-cooled laser maintenance.
Liquid Cooling
System Overhaul
Common Panasonic Faults & Fixes
Panasonic dominates the high-brightness market with their Solid Shine™ Laser technology. However, even these robust units require maintenance. Whether you have a classroom PT-VZ unit or a stadium-class PT-RQ, we have the expertise.
3LCD Discolouration
Common in the PT-FW, PT-EZ, and PT-MZ LCD series. This is "Polariser Burn". Heat degrades the organic optical filters. We rebuild the optical engine with new inorganic polarisers to restore perfect white balance.
Status Errors
Panasonic uses precise blink codes. If a unit refuses to strike the lamp or shuts down with a red Temp/Lamp LED, we decode these patterns to identify the specific failed component down to the circuit board level.
Liquid Cooling Failure
Installation projectors often use liquid cooling systems. Over 3-5 years, the glycol coolant degrades or evaporates, leading to thermal throttling. We perform complete coolant flushes and pump tests.
Iris / Shutter Failure
If you hear a grinding noise on startup, the dynamic iris gear has likely stripped. This triggers a protection shutdown. We stock genuine replacement iris mechanisms for the PT-DZ/RZ series.
Panasonic Error Code Database
Panasonic projectors use a specific combination of LAMP, TEMP, and POWER/STATUS indicators. Use this matrix to identify your issue.
| LED Indicator State | Indicated Fault | Engineer's Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
|
TEMP: Blinking Red (2 Times)
|
Temperature Rise | The internal temperature is too high. The projector will shut down. Check the air filter unit. If the filter is clean, an intake fan may have failed. |
|
LAMP: Blinking Red (3 Times)
|
Lamp Failure / Ballast | The lamp fails to light. The unit tried to strike 3 times. Replace the lamp unit. If a new lamp fails, the ballast circuit is faulty. |
|
FILTER: Solid Red
|
Filter Clogged | The air filter is clogged. Clean or replace the filter unit immediately. Ignoring this will lead to optical block damage (polariser burn). |
|
TEMP: Blinking Red (3 Times)
|
Sensor Error / Cooling | The cooling fan has stopped, or the temperature sensor is reading erratic data. A critical hardware fault that prevents operation. |
|
STATUS: Blinking Orange
|
Shutter / Iris Error | The mechanical shutter is stuck in the closed or open position. Common after transport or impact. |

Free Projector Recycling
Is your legacy Panasonic projector beyond economical repair? Don't send it to landfill. We offer a completely free, eco-friendly recycling service. We safely extract hazardous mercury from old UHP lamps and ensure zero-to-landfill processing for plastics and metals.
Recycle NowDon't Throw It Away.
A temp error or discoloured image does not mean your Panasonic is dead. A professional component replacement or optical rebuild preserves your venue's capabilities for a fraction of the cost of a new high-lumen unit.
