LCOS & AISYS Optical Specialists

Canon Projector
Repair Centre.

Serving the medical, simulation, and gallery sectors. We provide specialist engineering for Canon's unique LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) and AISYS optical systems, covering the entire XEED and LX Laser fleet.

Hardware Degradation

Common Canon Faults & Fixes

Canon projectors are prized in environments where colour fidelity is paramount (galleries, medical imaging, design studios). However, their proprietary LCOS panels and AISYS light engines require meticulous thermal management to prevent degradation.

LCOS Colour Shift

If the image develops a strong yellow, blue, or purple tint, the LCOS panels or polarising filters within the AISYS optical block have suffered thermal degradation. We replace these delicate filters to restore DICOM-grade accuracy.

Optical Misalignment

Canon's lenses (often featuring L-Series red ring optics) are heavy. Physical shock during transit can shift the internal lens shift mechanisms or the LCOS prism, causing blurred corners. We mechanically realign the optical bench.

Ballast Ignition Failure

On XEED lamp models, repetitive clicking followed by a shutdown indicates the high-voltage ballast cannot ignite the bulb. We rebuild the ballast ignition coils and MOSFETs using precision micro-soldering.

Thermal Shutdowns

Compact models like the WUX400ST pack immense power into small chassis. If an intake fan bearing wears out or the internal ducts clog, the unit shuts down to protect the LCOS chips. We service the entire cooling array.

Service Expertise Warning: Disassembling a Canon XEED projector requires specific optical jigs. The AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) is uniquely calibrated at the factory. Standard IT repair centres often permanently damage convergence when attempting internal cleaning. Our laboratory is fully equipped for LCOS handling.

Diagnostic Matrix

Canon Error Code Database

Canon projectors utilise a combination of the POWER, WARNING, TEMP, and LAMP LEDs to communicate hardware faults.

LED Indicator State Indicated Fault Engineer's Recommendation
TEMP: Flashing Red
WARNING: Solid Red
Abnormal Temperature The internal temperature has breached safety thresholds. The projector cuts power to the lamp/laser. Usually a blocked filter, but if clean, an internal cooling fan is dead.
LAMP: Flashing Red
WARNING: Solid Red
Lamp / Ballast Failure The system cannot ignite the lamp arc. First, ensure the lamp cover is securely screwed down (engaging the microswitch). If secure, the bulb or ballast board has failed.
WARNING: Flashing Orange
Fan Lock Error A cooling fan's RPM has dropped below acceptable limits, or it has seized entirely. The projector will not turn on to prevent optical damage. Fan replacement required.
WARNING: Flashing Red (Fast)
System / Mainboard Error A critical fault on the main logic board. Often caused by a power surge damaging the DC-DC converters or a failure in the LCOS driver circuitry.
Completely Dead Main Power Supply (PSU) No standby lights whatsoever. A power surge has likely blown the internal ceramic fuse or primary bridge rectifier. We perform component-level soldering to revive the board.
